We recommend you look for a plan that offers 3-4 dental cleanings per year. This is really helpful for patients that have periodontal disease, or patients that could benefit from extra cleanings to keep up good dental hygiene!
Fluoride also included for adults would be preferred. Many plans it’s only offered for children. Fluoride is beneficial for both adults and children – it fights off plaque to prevent cavities.
If the plan offers preventative services that are exempt of the annual maximum this is an ideal benefit. For example, if your dental benefits are exhausted because of restorative work (such as fillings or crowns), you would still be entitled to receive a dental cleaning, exam, fluoride and xrays and not have to pay out of pocket for these services.
Make sure you do NOT pick a plan that has waiting periods for major services.
No missing tooth clause either.
